The 22nd match of SA20 2025 at The Wanderers Stadium saw an incredible moment of brilliance from Joburg Super Kings’ fielder Wihan Lubbe. On the fifth ball of the 18th over, Lubbe showcased his athleticism and quick reflexes to dismiss Tristan Stubbs, leaving the Sunrisers Eastern Cape in deeper trouble.
The dramatic run-out happened when Liam Dawson pushed a ball softly towards mid-wicket and called for a quick single before hesitating. Stubbs, halfway down the pitch, had no chance to return as Lubbe swooped in, picked up the ball, and hit the stumps with a sharp underarm throw. Stubbs, who had fought hard for his 37 off 38 balls, walked back disappointed as the Sunrisers slumped to 115 for 7.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape’s First Innings
The Sunrisers Eastern Cape struggled with the bat and were bowled out for 118 runs in 19 overs. After choosing to bat first, their innings began disastrously as Lutho Sipamla sent back Zak Crawley, Tom Abell, and Jordan Hermann for ducks. Captain Aiden Markram also departed without scoring, leaving the Sunrisers reeling at 17 for 4.
David Bedingham tried to stabilize the innings with a solid 48 off 40 balls, hitting seven boundaries. Tristan Stubbs contributed 37 runs and added some valuable runs with Marco Jansen, who chipped in with 22 off 18 deliveries. However, the lower order collapsed quickly, with Hardus Viljoen taking 4 wickets for just 24 runs in his 4 overs.
