Virat Kohli did not get a chance to bat on Day 1 of the Ranji Trophy match between Delhi and Railways. Delhi came out to bat after bowling out Railways for 241 and ended the day at 41/1. The match saw a huge crowd at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, as thousands of fans gathered to watch Kohli’s return to domestic cricket after 12 years.

Railways were struggling at 66/5 before Upendra Yadav and Karn Sharma stitched a crucial partnership to rescue their innings. Upendra top-scored with 95 runs, while Navdeep Saini and Sumit Mathur picked up three wickets each for Delhi. Kohli is playing under the captaincy of Ayush Badoni in this match.

As per a report by IANS, more than 15,000 fans attended Day 1. With Kohli expected to bat on the second day, the number of spectators is likely to increase. To ensure a smooth entry, the stadium authorities may open more stands for fans.

Price and How to Book Tickets

Entry to the Arun Jaitley Stadium for the ongoing Delhi vs Railways match is free of cost. However, fans must bring a valid ID card, preferably an Aadhar Card, to enter the stadium.

The stadium has a seating capacity of 35,200, but the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) has only opened a few stands for free entry. Depending on the crowd size, more stands may be opened in the coming days.

The match is a four-day fixture from January 30 to February 2. If it lasts all four days, authorities might increase the seating availability further. The start time for each day’s play is 9:30 AM IST.

Even though Kohli is a former India captain, he chose not to lead the Delhi team, allowing Ayush Badoni to continue as skipper. His presence has already brought a lot of energy to the Delhi squad, and fans are eagerly waiting to see him bat on Day 2.
