His innings included 12 fours and 3 sixes, with a strike rate of nearly 130. However, while attempting a big shot to complete his century, he lost his wicket to Karn Sharma. Before getting out, he had reached 99 with a six.

Virat Kohli, who was watching from the dressing room, was visibly frustrated and disappointed after seeing Badoni get out just one run short of a well-deserved century.

Delhi’s Struggles Before Badoni’s Knock

When Ayush Badoni came to the crease, Delhi was struggling. The team had lost 3 wickets for just 86 runs in 27.4 overs, including the dismissal of Virat Kohli. Soon after, opener Sanat Sangwan also got out, leaving Delhi at 97/4 in 29.1 overs.

Badoni then built a crucial 133-run partnership with Sumit Mathur, stabilizing the innings. By the time he got out, Delhi had reached 230/5. Other batters like Arpit Rana (10), Sanat Sangwan (30), Yash Dhull (32), and Virat Kohli (6) failed to make a big impact.

Ayush Badoni’s Impressive First-Class Record

In November 2024, Badoni played a stunning unbeaten knock of 205 runs against Jharkhand at Arun Jaitley Stadium. His innings helped Delhi dominate.

Meanwhile, in this match against Railways, all eyes were on Virat Kohli, who was playing a Ranji Trophy game after 13 years. However, he could only score 6 runs before being bowled by Himanshu Sangwan.
