Suryansh Shedge, the young and dynamic all-rounder, has made a name for himself in domestic cricket, and now he is all set to shine in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The all-rounder, who helped Mumbai lift the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2024 title with his blistering 36* off 15 balls in the final, will now represent Punjab Kings in the upcoming IPL season.

Furthermore, he v has been impressive in the ongoing Ranji Trophy season as well. Recently while playing for Mumbai, he hammered a quickfire fifty against Meghalaya.

In the SMAT 2024, Shedge displayed both his batting and bowling skills, making significant contributions to his team. He scored 131 runs in the tournament at an average of 43.66 and a remarkable strike rate of 251.92, including 13 sixes. Additionally, he picked up eight wickets in the tournament at an average of 23.

Punjab Kings secured Shedge for INR 30 lakh in the IPL 2025 mega auction, and the young all-rounder is excited to be part of the team. He expressed his enthusiasm for playing under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer, who will captain the franchise in the upcoming IPL season.

Shedge stated:

“If you track the record of Punjab Kings over the past few years, they always invest in new talent. I am really excited to be a part of the franchise. Shreyas bhaiya being the captain makes it easier because he is a familiar face.”

Shedge also expressed his excitement about reuniting with his Mumbai teammate Musheer Khan at Punjab Kings. He recalled:

“I saw Musheer’s name and knew I would be coming up shortly. Punjab Kings bought him, so I was really excited. I was just about to call him, but my name appeared, so I stopped.”

Reflecting on his journey so far, Shedge admitted, “When you are in a city like Mumbai, the competition is always tough. You will find talent in every street. I thought I will be forgotten, and my career will go downhill.”
