Former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak played a game of tennis ball cricket at the famous Parsee Gymkhana in Mumbai on Sunday. He later said he was happy that he did not get out too many times.

Rishi Sunak Enjoys Cricket In Mumbai

Sunak, who is a big cricket fan, shared a picture of himself playing a cover drive on X (formerly Twitter). He wrote, “No trip to Mumbai is complete without a game of tennis ball cricket.”

Speaking at the event, Sunak praised the Parsee Gymkhana on its anniversary celebrations. He said the club had a rich history and a bright future. “Great to be with all of you at the Parsee Gymkhana Club. What an extraordinary achievement. So much history and so much exciting stuff to come,” he said.

He also spent time with young cricketers at the venue and said he looked forward to more such visits in the future.

Parsee Gymkhana is one of Mumbai’s oldest sports clubs. It was founded on February 25, 1885, with Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy as its first president and Jamsetjee Tata as chairman. In 1887, the club shifted to its current location on Marine Drive.

Over the years, it has played an important role in promoting cricket and other sports in Mumbai.
