Rahul Dravid, the legendary cricketer and India’s T20 World Cup-winning coach, is spending time in his hometown, Bengaluru. However, his stay has not been entirely peaceful. On Tuesday, February 4, Dravid was involved in a heated exchange with an auto driver on Cunningham Road, near the historic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
What Happened?
Eyewitnesses at the scene said that Dravid remained calm, as expected from his soft-spoken nature. He tried to handle the situation politely, but the auto driver was quite aggressive. The argument created a chaotic scene on the busy road.
The exact words of their conversation were unclear, but witnesses reported that Dravid explained the accident was not his fault. The auto driver had applied sudden brakes, leaving Dravid with little time to react and stop his SUV. In response, the auto driver admitted his mistake in Kannada but also suggested that Dravid could have been more careful.
A video of the incident quickly went viral, but no FIR or police complaint has been registered. However, since the video gained attention, authorities might look into the matter.

Dravid previously played for the franchise from 2011 to 2013 after a three-year stint with Royal Challengers Bangalore (now Bengaluru). With the IPL 2025 season approaching, he will look to guide Rajasthan Royals to their second title, adding another achievement to his coaching career.
