Ravindra Jadeja has achieved a special milestone in international cricket. The veteran all-rounder has now taken 600 wickets, becoming only the fifth Indian bowler to reach this landmark. He achieved this feat during the first ODI against England at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur.
Jadeja picked his 600th wicket in the 47th over of England’s innings when he dismissed Adil Rashid (8). Rashid attempted a sweep shot, but extra bounce led to his dismissal.
Jadeja started the match with 597 wickets, the same as former India pacer Zaheer Khan. With bowling figures of 9-1-26-3, he surpassed Zaheer to become the 26th bowler in world cricket to take 600 international wickets.
Among Indian bowlers, only Anil Kumble (953), Ravichandran Ashwin (765), Harbhajan Singh (707), and Kapil Dev (687) have taken more wickets than Jadeja.
Among active Indian cricketers, Mohammed Shami (452), Jasprit Bumrah (443), and Ishant Sharma (434) are still behind Jadeja. At this rate, Jadeja has a good chance of matching Kapil Dev’s record in the future.

Skipper Rohit Sharma used six bowlers in the match, and Jadeja turned out to be the best among them. He bowled with great control, dismissing Joe Root (19) and Jacob Bethell (51) apart from Adil Rashid.
Jadeja finished with an economy rate of 2.88, making it the ninth time he has conceded less than three runs per over in an ODI. His spell helped India bowl out England for 248 in 47.4 overs.
