Former cricketer Ravi Shastri has shared his thoughts on India’s upcoming match against Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The two teams will face each other on February 23 in Dubai.

India lost to Pakistan at the same venue during the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 by 10 wickets. However, Shastri believes that past results will not affect India’s chances in this tournament. He feels that the longer format will suit Rohit Sharma’s team better.

Speaking about the match, Shastri said that India’s previous defeat against Pakistan in T20I will not matter in the 50-over format.

“It won’t play on their mind because that was a T20I game, and they are now going to clash in the fifty-over format. It suits India because you can upset teams in the shortest format, but the contest is played differently in this version,” he said.

Shastri also praised India’s squad, saying that they have more experience in batting, bowling, and fielding. He stated that when compared player by player, India is a much stronger side than Pakistan.

Before the Champions Trophy, India will play a three-match ODI series against England to prepare for the tournament. On the other hand, Pakistan will take part in a tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa.
