Tech Triumph Season 3 Launched to Showcase India’s Gaming Innovation on Global Platforms

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), the Interactive Entertainment and Innovation Council (IEIC), and WinZO Games have launched the third season of the Tech Triumph Program (TTP). This initiative, part of the Create in India Challenge – Season 1, aims to identify, support, and showcase India’s gaming talent on global platforms, reinforcing the country’s position in the growing gaming industry.

Fueling Innovation and Growth in India’s Gaming Industry

With the global gaming market valued at USD 300 billion, India is projected to expand its share from USD 3.1 billion to USD 60 billion by 2034. The TTP initiative is designed to accelerate this growth by fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology development within the gaming sector. It provides selected startups, developers, and students with investment opportunities, mentorship, and a chance to showcase their work on an international stage.

As part of the program, game developers and tech innovators will have the opportunity to present their work at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2025 in San Francisco from March 17 to 21 and later at the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) in India. Participants will receive fully sponsored event access, exhibition space, airfare, and a platform to connect with global gaming experts and investors. The competition is open to gaming studios, independent developers, and esports organizations working across PC, mobile, and console platforms. Additionally, startups specializing in payments, security, engagement, monetization, and gaming support solutions are also eligible to participate. The application deadline has been extended to February 20, 2025 to encourage broader participation.

The selection process follows a three-stage format. Participants must submit their entries for initial evaluation, after which shortlisted candidates will move to the final round to present their concepts to an expert panel. The winners will then be mentored and guided to ensure their projects are well-prepared for global presentation.

Highlighting the initiative’s impact, Sanjay Jaju, Secretary of MIB, emphasized that TTP aligns with India’s vision of promoting AVGC-XR (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality) innovations on an international scale. He noted that the initiative, in collaboration with WAVES, is expected to provide Indian startups with critical resources and opportunities to expand their reach.

Abhishek Malhotra, Advisor of IEIC, remarked that the program strengthens India’s gaming ecosystem and prepares innovators for the global market. He added that Season 3 will be the most impactful yet, offering expanded funding, enhanced mentorship, and advanced tools to help participants build groundbreaking gaming solutions.

Paavan Nanda, Co-founder of WinZO, highlighted that TTP represents India’s ambition to compete on the world stage in digital gaming. He emphasized that the initiative embodies the “Create in India for the World” philosophy, providing startups with access to funding, cutting-edge resources, and global exposure. He expressed confidence that the program will continue to foster innovation and push India’s gaming industry to new heights.

Past editions of the Tech Triumph Program have provided winning participants with opportunities to showcase their games at leading international events, including GDC 2024, Gamescom in Germany and Brazil, and the Brazil Gaming Show. With support from industry leaders and government representatives, TTP has played a key role in nurturing India’s gaming sector. The third season aims to build on this success, ensuring a lasting impact on the global gaming landscape and reinforcing India’s standing as a hub for gaming innovation.

With India’s AVGC and XR sectors growing rapidly, this initiative is set to further accelerate technological advancements, entrepreneurship, and gaming exports. As digital and online gaming remain the fastest-growing segments in India’s media sector, Tech Triumph Season 3 is poised to unlock new opportunities for gaming professionals, innovators, and students looking to make a mark on the global stage.
