IPL 2025 First Match: Here’s Which Teams Will Play and Venue Details

The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to begin on March 22, 2025. The first match will take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, featuring the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

As per IPL tradition, the opening match is hosted by the reigning champions in their home city. This time, KKR will take on RCB in what promises to be a thrilling contest at their fortress, Eden Gardens.

The IPL 2025 schedule has not been officially announced by the BCCI yet, but main matches have been shared with franchises. Along with the season opener, the final is also expected to be played at Eden Gardens on May 25.
