Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur played a powerful knock against Delhi Capitals in the WPL 2025 match in Vadodara. She attacked Annabel Sutherland in the 11th over, hitting her for 18 runs in four balls. However, Sutherland got her wicket on the fifth delivery.

Harmanpreet Kaur’s Fiery Knock

Harmanpreet started the over with a boundary between short third and backward point. She then hit another four over short third before smashing a six to deep mid-wicket. On the next ball, she played another four behind point.

However, on the fifth ball, she tried another shot toward the cover but ended up hitting it straight to debutant Niki Prasad at deep point. She got out after scoring 42 runs off just 22 balls. Her strike rate was 190.90, and she hit three sixes and four boundaries.

Before getting out, she built a strong 73-run partnership with Natalie Sciver-Brunt. Mumbai Indians were at 32-2 in 4.2 overs before their partnership helped the team recover.

Mumbai Indians Get All Out for 164

Mumbai Indians were bowled out for 164 in 19.1 overs. Natalie Sciver-Brunt was the top scorer with 80* runs off 59 balls, hitting 13 boundaries.

For Delhi Capitals, Annabel Sutherland took three wickets for 34 runs in 3.1 overs. Shikha Pandey also took two wickets.

Harmanpreet Kaur Reaches 8,000 T20 Runs

During this match, Harmanpreet Kaur completed 8,000 runs in T20 cricket. She reached this milestone when she hit a six off Sutherland in the 11th over.

In WPL, she has scored 633 runs in 19 matches, including five centuries. She has also scored 1,440 runs in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL). In international T20s, she has 3,589 runs in 178 matches, making her one of India’s top batters in this format.
