WPL 2025: Harmanpreet Kaur’s Power Hitting Rescues Mumbai Indians Against Delhi Capitals

Harmanpreet Kaur played a powerful innings to help Mumbai Indians in match number two of WPL 2025. She came to bat at number four in the fifth over and played a quick knock. She scored 42 runs from just 22 balls. Her innings included four boundaries and three big sixes. She especially attacked Delhi Capitals’ Australian fast bowler Annabel Sutherland.
Harmanpreet Kaur Shines at Kotambi Stadium
Mumbai Indians lost two early wickets and were struggling at 32-2. But Harmanpreet Kaur turned the game around. She smashed 42 runs and took the team to 105-2 in just 10.5 overs. In the 11th over, she hit Sutherland for three boundaries and a six in four balls. However, Sutherland dismissed her on the very next ball. Kaur and Nat Sciver-Brunt had a great partnership of 73 runs.
She showed her attacking style earlier in the eighth over against Radha Yadav. She hit a four off a no-ball and then sent the free-hit delivery over the long-off boundary for a six.
Mumbai Indians’ Batting Struggle
Before Harmanpreet’s innings, Mumbai Indians had lost both openers, including star batter Hayley Matthews. Delhi Capitals’ fast bowler Shikha Pandey took both wickets. After Kaur and Sciver-Brunt’s partnership ended, no other Mumbai Indians batter scored more than 10 runs. The team managed to reach 164 runs before getting all out in 19.1 overs.
