New Zealand opener Will Young has been making waves with his batting performance in the Champions Trophy 2025 opener against Pakistan.

The 32-year-old smashed a brilliant century, becoming the first batter to reach the three-figure mark in this edition of the tournament. He was eventually dismissed by Naseem Shah for 107 runs.

With his impressive form, fans are now wondering whether he will be part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the most popular and cash-rich T20 league in the world.

However, Young did not find any buyers in the IPL 2025 auction, which took place in November last year. He had registered himself at a base price of ₹1.25 crore in the capped batters category but went unsold.

Despite going unsold, there is still a chance for Young to feature in the IPL as a replacement player. If any franchise loses a player due to injury or other reasons, teams might consider bringing in Young, especially given his recent form.

In his overall T20 career, Will Young has scored over 2500 runs in 114 matches at a strike rate of 128.89, averaging 24.64. With such numbers, an IPL team could take notice and offer him a place if an opportunity arises.
