India’s star opener and vice-captain, Shubman Gill, stunned everyone with a breathtaking six during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match against Bangladesh at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on February 20.
The shot was so remarkable that even Indian skipper Rohit Sharma couldn’t hide his admiration.
Shubman Gill’s Sensational Six
While chasing a target of 229, India got off to a strong start, with Rohit Sharma playing his trademark aggressive strokes. Gill, on the other hand, provided solid support, keeping the scoreboard ticking with well-timed boundaries.
However, one shot stood out above all. In the ninth over, facing Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Gill played an unbelievable short-arm jab off the front foot, sending the ball soaring into the second tier over deep mid-wicket. The monstrous 98-meter six left everyone—including Rohit Sharma—awestruck. As the camera panned to the Indian captain, he could be seen smiling and shrugging in sheer admiration of Gill’s effortless stroke.
