IPL 2025: 3 Teams That Can Sign Ben Duckett as an Injury Replacement

When the IPL auction took place, Ben Duckett surprisingly went unsold. However, some teams are now facing injury concerns and might look for an overseas opener as a replacement. Here are three teams that can consider signing Duckett.

1. Rajasthan Royals

Sanju Samson suffered a fracture to his index finger during the India vs England T20I series and recently underwent surgery. There is no clear update on when he will return.

If Samson is ruled out, Rajasthan Royals might need a top-order batter. Duckett can be a solid partner for Yashasvi Jaiswal at the top, as both batters like to attack from the start.

2. Lucknow Super Giants

LSG made headlines by buying Rishabh Pant for INR 27 crore, which affected their squad balance. They have only six overseas players, leaving two vacant slots.

The team is also keeping an eye on Mitchell Marsh’s fitness, as he missed Champions Trophy matches due to injury. If Marsh is unavailable, LSG might look at Duckett as a top-order option.

3. Royal Challengers Bengaluru

RCB is dealing with the injury of Jacob Bethell, and if he gets ruled out, the team will need a left-handed opener. Duckett can be a good option for them.

He can open alongside Phil Salt, his England teammate, and both share a good understanding as an opening pair. This move can allow Virat Kohli to play at No.3, giving RCB a strong top order.
