New Zealand secured a comfortable six-wicket victory over Bangladesh in Rawalpindi to book their place in the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy 2025. With this result, both Pakistan and Bangladesh are eliminated from the tournament.

Opting to bat first, Bangladesh posted 236/9 in 50 overs. Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto led the way with a composed 77 off 110 balls, but the middle order failed to provide much support.

Jaker Ali (45 off 55) and Rishad Hossain (26 off 25) chipped in with useful runs down the order. Michael Bracewell was the pick of the bowlers for New Zealand, claiming 4/26 in his 10 overs.

In response, New Zealand had a shaky start as Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana removed Will Young and Kane Williamson early. However, Rachin Ravindra played a stunning knock, scoring 112 off 105 balls.

He stitched a crucial 129-run stand with Tom Latham (55 off 76) to stabilize the innings. Glenn Phillips (21) and Michael Bracewell (11) ensured there were no further hiccups as New Zealand chased down the target in 46.1 overs.

With this win, New Zealand advanced to the semi-finals, while Bangladesh bowed out of the tournament.
