“Wasim Akram & Waqar Younis Will Do Anything for Money” – Rashid Latif’s Bold Claim

Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has taken a strong dig at cricket legends Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis. His comments came after the two former cricketers criticized Pakistan’s poor performance in the Champions Trophy.
Pakistan, the host nation, failed to win even a single match and got eliminated in the group stage. This led to heavy criticism from experts and former players.
Rashid Latif has often spoken against former cricketers from the 90s. He believes they are not allowing Pakistan cricket to grow. Speaking on Geo News’ show Harna Mana Hai, he said:
“Pakistan took 17 years to win another World Cup because the 90s players didn’t let the team grow. Keep them away from management, and Pakistan will start winning again.”
Latif also called Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis “Dubai ke launde” (Boys from Dubai) because they stayed in the UAE for their broadcasting work during the Champions Trophy.
“These boys from Dubai are making a big scene. They always had problems with each other, which harmed Pakistan cricket. Offer them money, and they’ll do anything,” Latif added.
Pakistan’s Next Matches
After their early exit from the Champions Trophy, Pakistan will now tour New Zealand. The tour begins on March 16 and includes five T20Is and three ODIs.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made big changes to the T20I squad. Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam have been dropped. Salman Agha will now lead the T20I team, with Shadab Khan as his deputy.
The ODI squad remains mostly the same. However, Shaheen Afridi is not included, while Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan continue to be part of the team.
