IPL 2025: Three Players Who Can Replace Harry Brook in Delhi Capitals Squad

England batter Harry Brook has decided to skip IPL 2025. He wants to focus on playing for England. Delhi Capitals (DC) had bought him for ₹6.25 crore, but this is the second time he has withdrawn from the IPL.

According to new IPL rules, a player who pulls out after the auction but before the season starts can be banned from the tournament and the next two auctions. This means Brook might not play IPL for two seasons.

Brook said that playing for England is his top priority. He knows that some people may not agree with his decision, but he believes it is the right choice for him.

Now, Delhi Capitals need to find a replacement for him. Here are three players who can take his place in IPL 2025.

1. Dewald Brevis

Dewald Brevis is a young South African batter. He has played 10 IPL matches for Mumbai Indians before. In the IPL 2025 auction, his base price was ₹75 lakh, but no team picked him.

However, Brevis has been in great form recently. He scored 291 runs in 10 innings in SA20 2025. His performance helped MI Cape Town win the title. He has also done well in List A matches, scoring three half-centuries in his last three games.

Delhi Capitals might consider him as a replacement because he is a talented middle-order batter who can play big shots.

2. Mitchell Owen

Mitchell Owen is an Australian batter. He was a key player for Hobart Hurricanes in BBL 2025. His performance helped them win the Big Bash League title.

Owen scored 452 runs in 11 matches at a strike rate of 203. He even hit a century in the final against Sydney Thunder. His attacking style makes him a strong option for Delhi Capitals.

If given a chance, Owen could be a great addition to the DC squad.

3. Ben Duckett

Ben Duckett is an experienced England batter. He has been in excellent form across all formats. He was one of England’s best players in the Champions Trophy 2025, scoring 227 runs in three matches.

Duckett also performed well in the BBL, scoring 243 runs in seven matches. He has experience playing in Indian conditions and can give Delhi Capitals quick starts.

If DC signs him as a replacement, he can be a solid choice in their batting lineup.
