England batter Harry Brook has been banned from the Indian Premier League (IPL) for two years after withdrawing from the tournament for the second consecutive season.
Under the new BCCI rule, overseas players who pull out after being picked by a franchise cannot re-enter the IPL auction for two years. This means Brook will be ineligible until 2027.
Brook opted out of IPL 2025 to focus on England cricket, just as he had done in 2024. Last year, Delhi Capitals had signed him for ₹6.25 crore, but he later withdrew.
Following his latest decision, Brook apologized to the Delhi Capitals and their fans, stating that his priority is playing for England. He also mentioned that he needed time to recharge before his next assignment.
