Virat Kohli has hinted that his time playing in Australia might be over. The former India captain recently shared his thoughts on retirement, cricket in the Olympics, and the rise of women’s cricket in India.

Virat Kohli’s Thoughts on Retirement

Virat Kohli, who has rejoined Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) ahead of IPL 2025, spoke about his future after cricket. He admitted that he is unsure about his plans post-retirement.

“I actually don’t know what I will be doing post-retirement. Recently, I asked a teammate the same question and got the same reply. Yeah, but maybe a lot of travelling,” Kohli said during an event at the RCB Innovation Lab.

No More Australia Tours?

Kohli also reflected on his recent performances in Australia. He suggested that the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 might have been his last tour of the country.

“I might not have another Australia tour in me, so I am at peace with whatever happened in the past,” Kohli said. This statement has sparked discussions about his future in Test cricket.

Cricket in the Olympics

Kohli also shared his excitement about cricket’s return to the Olympics at the 2028 Los Angeles Games.

“Cricket being part of the Olympics is a great chance for us. Coming back with a medal will be a great thing for the team,” he said.

Support for Women’s Cricket

Kohli praised the growth of women’s cricket in India. He believes that the Women’s Premier League (WPL) will play a big role in making India a stronger sporting nation.

“WPL is going to grow, and you cannot cater only to men’s sport if you want to grow as a sporting nation,” Kohli said.

Looking Back at Champions Trophy Victory

Kohli also spoke about India’s Champions Trophy win. He credited the team’s ability to adapt to different conditions as the key reason for their success.

“We as a team adapted to the conditions better than others, hence won the Champions Trophy,” he noted.

As Kohli enters his 18th IPL season, he remains a vital player for RCB. The team is still chasing its first IPL title, and Kohli’s experience will be crucial for their campaign.

For now, fans are eager to see him in action, but his hint about Australia could mean that the end of his Test career is near.
