Lucknow’s Injury Woes in Pace Department

LSG is dealing with injuries to key pacers ahead of the season. Mohsin Khan and Avesh Khan are currently waiting for fitness clearance from the National Cricket Academy (NCA), while young speedster Mayank Yadav might miss the first half of IPL 2025 due to injury. This has left the team short on pace bowling options, making Thakur and Mavi strong candidates for selection.

Shardul Thakur – An Experienced Option

Shardul Thakur went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction, but his vast experience could make him a valuable addition to LSG. He has played 95 IPL matches, taking 94 wickets and contributing useful runs when needed. He also performed well in the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy, where his all-round skills helped Mumbai reach the final.

Shivam Mavi – A Young and Energetic Fast Bowler

Shivam Mavi, another unsold player in the IPL 2025 auction, has been seen bowling in LSG’s practice sessions. This has fueled rumors that the team might bring him in as a backup fast bowler. Mavi has decent pace and previous IPL experience, which could strengthen LSG’s pace attack.
