Virat Kohli has begun intense net practice ahead of Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) opening match in IPL 2025 against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on March 22. RCB recently shared a glimpse of Kohli’s training session, where he looked in great touch, playing lofted strokes, powerful drives, and elegant shots.

Virat Kohli’s Recent Form

Kohli was a key player in India’s ICC Champions Trophy 2025 triumph, finishing as the team’s second-highest run-scorer. He scored 218 runs in five matches at an average of 54.50, including a memorable 100 against Pakistan* and a crucial 84 against Australia in the semifinals.

Kohli’s IPL Legacy

This will be Virat Kohli’s 18th season with RCB, making him one of the most loyal players in IPL history. He is already the highest run-getter in the tournament, with 8,004 runs in 252 matches at an average of 38.66, including eight centuries and 55 fifties.

Last season, Kohli won the Orange Cap, scoring 741 runs at an average of 61.75 and a strike rate of 154.69. He hit 38 sixes and proved his critics wrong with exceptional batting against spinners. His performances were crucial in RCB’s remarkable turnaround last season, helping them qualify for the playoffs after a poor first half.

RCB is all set to kick off their season with the Unbox event, where fans will witness the team’s practice session, jersey reveal, and live performances. With Kohli back in form and practicing hard, RCB will be hoping for a strong start to their IPL 2025 campaign.
