LightFury Games and AWS unveil revolutionary 'E-Cricket' with cloud streaming technology at GDC 2025

LightFury Games, India’s advanced AAA-focused game-tech studio, has revealed its title ‘E-Cricket’ at GDC 2025. The studio showcased both a teaser and playable demo at the San Francisco event. This project was created in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) representing a step towards establishing India as a global hub for world-class game development.

E-Cricket utilizes the new Amazon GameLift Streams capability from AWS. This fully managed service delivers high-fidelity, low-latency gaming experiences through any standard web browser. Players can access advanced gaming without dedicated hardware requirements. This breakthrough eliminates traditional barriers to AAA gaming exMove to Trashperiences across devices.

The Game Developers Conference has launched projects for over 30 years. It attracts more than 28,000 industry professionals annually from development, publishing, and technology sectors.

LightFury’s global showcase represents a significant step for India’s AAA gaming ecosystem. The title aims to serve both dedicated esports competitors and cricket enthusiasts worldwide. Built on Unreal Engine 5, E-Cricket leverages AI and next-generation visual technologies. The game reimagines cricket with gameplay mechanics in an entirely new format.

The title will foster an engaging player community through various interactive features. These include multiplayer modes, live tournaments, and innovative gameplay elements. LightFury specifically designed these features to push boundaries of traditional esports gaming. The studio has announced plans for a global launch in early 2026.

Anurag Banerjee, CPTO and Co-founder of LightFury Games, highlighted the achievement’s significance. “It’s an impactful opportunity for an Indian AAA game studio to showcase at GDC, marking an incredible milestone for the industry.”

Banerjee explained the transformative potential for India’s gaming market. “Amazon GameLift Streams is going to revolutionise mobile gaming in India – the world’s second-largest mobile market.” He detailed specific benefits of the browser-based approach. “By delivering high-fidelity visuals on mobile devices through any web browser (without app installations) and requiring only high-speed internet, this technology makes high-class gaming more accessible and affordable.”

Banerjee emphasized broader industry implications. “It reshapes the industry, unlocking bold new opportunities for gameplay, engagement, and monetisation, allowing us to take this game to the masses like never before.”

Karan Shroff, CEO and Co-founder of LightFury Games, shared the company’s vision. “We have announced the release of a blockbuster AAA E-Cricket game—made in India, for India and the world.” Shroff confirmed their commitment to the development timeline. “We are fully committed to launching it in early 2026 and are moving full steam ahead.”
