Rajasthan Royals (RR) head coach Rahul Dravid arrived at the team’s training camp in an electric wheelchair, sparking curiosity among fans. A video of him moving around in the motorized wheelchair went viral, with many wondering about his injury.

How Did Rahul Dravid Get Injured?

Dravid suffered a calf muscle injury while playing in the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) Group III league semifinal for Vijaya Cricket Club. He was batting alongside his 16-year-old son, Anvay, when he started feeling discomfort. However, he continued playing until the 18th over when he attempted a run, pulled his calf muscle, and collapsed in pain. His teammates had to help him off the field.

Dravid’s Role in RR’s IPL 2025 Campaign

Despite his injury, Dravid remains focused on RR’s IPL 2025 preparations. The former India captain was appointed as RR’s head coach before the mega auction and has already had a strong influence on the squad. His presence, along with Director of Cricket Kumar Sangakkara, will be crucial in guiding captain Sanju Samson and the team through the season.

Rajasthan Royals will begin their IPL 2025 campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday, March 23.
