Hyderabad man registers case on Betting Apps, seeking legal action from the Panjagutta Police

Hyderabad police on Thursday quizzed actresses Ritu Chowdhary and Vishnu Priya for six hours and ten hours respectively in relation to betting app promotions by the two celebrities. This is pertaining to a case registered earlier this week at the Panjagutta police station. A separate case was registered by Miyapur police on Thursday at Miyapur police station, Hyderabad against 25 celebrities including top Tollywood stars Vijay Devarakonda, Rana Daggubati, and Prakash Raj. Miyapur and Punjagutta are with in greater Hyderabad  but fall under different police commissionerates.

Cops are said to have quizzed about the mode of payments and are scrutinizing the the bank statements of all the accused. The two actresses who appeared in person for investigation on Thursday have been called to attend another round of questioning on March 25.

The crackdown by police authorities in the Telugu states also caught the eye of money laundering watchdog Enforcement Directorate (ED) which has reportedly decided to investigate endorsement of illegal betting apps by Tollywood actors and social media influencers. As per reports, ED will soon register enforcement case information report (ECIR) based on FIRs in the Telugu states and issues summons to the actors involved. It is worth noting that the notorious MahadevBook also had roots in Vizag. Vizag police were the first to book a Youtube content creator Nani in this current crackdown.

In a related development, Hyderabad metro rail authorities had directed its advertiser to remove all betting app promotions from its properties.
