Indie Game Utsav to showcase India’s Best PC and Console Games at Mumbai Comic Con 2025

Mumbai Comic Con 2025 will host the first edition of Indie Game Utsav, India’s festival specially dedicated to independently developed PC and console games. The event will take place on April 12-13, 2025, and will feature over 40 high-quality indie games.

Indie Game Utsav is supported by Xbox, Xsolla, Specter, and Nodwin Gaming. IGDA India (International Game Developers Association) is the event’s community partner. The festival aims to introduce Indian gamers to high-quality locally developed games and foster a strong PC and console gaming culture in the country.

The festival was founded by Avichal Singh, Co-Founder and Game Director of Nodding Heads Games, the studio behind Raji: An Ancient Epic. He stated, “Indie Game Utsav wants to pave the way for upcoming quality indie games from India to find success just like Raji. We are aiming to resolve long-existing B2B and B2C problems for indies.”

Akshat Rathee, Co-Founder and MD of Nodwin Gaming, which runs Comic Con India, expressed his support for indie game creators. He said, “NODWIN started with two guys who just loved PC gaming, so supporting indie developers feels like coming full circle. We’ve always believed in the incredible talent of Indian indie game creators and that their work should be easily accessible to gamers. Indie Game Utsav at Comic Con is just the beginning—one of many steps towards making gaming more open and exciting for everyone.”

The event will provide Indian indie game developers an opportunity to connect with global publishers. Companies attending the event include Krafton, Garena, Epic Games, Neon Doctrine, Dangen Entertainment, Xbox, Xsolla, 1312 Interactive, and Untold Tales. Additionally, digital meet-and-match sessions will feature Devolver Digital, RawFury, PluginDigital, Women in Games, WhiteThornGames, BrightGambit, Herocraft, Spielfabrique, and Toge Productions.

Leading up to Indie Game Utsav, several events will be held to support indie game developers:

• RawFury X Indie Game Utsav (March 24-25, 2025) – A two-day event with Swedish indie publishing specialist RawFury, featuring AMA sessions, pitch deck reviews, game reviews, and discussions about the gaming industry.
• Epic Games for Indies (Date: TBA) – Industry veterans from Epic Games will host sessions on business development, marketing, community engagement, and game design on their Discord server.
• Game Maker Mixer (April 11, 2025) – A networking event for indie game developers and publishers.
• MGN Indie Game Events (Throughout 2025) – Indie Game Utsav is partnering with MGN Indie Game Events in China to showcase selected Indian indie games to Chinese publishers and audiences.

Indie Game Utsav aims to be a landmark event for the Indian gaming industry, creating more opportunities for indie developers to gain recognition and expand their reach globally.
