Rohit Sharma, the former Mumbai Indians captain, was hoping for a strong comeback after getting out for a golden duck in the first match against Chennai Super Kings.

However, his struggles continued as he failed to make an impact against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Chasing 197, Rohit started with two boundaries, but his stay was short-lived. On the fourth ball of the first over, Mohammed Siraj bowled a perfect delivery that skidded through and rattled the stumps.

The ball nipped back in slightly, breaching Rohit’s defense and crashing into the bails. Siraj, who had conceded a couple of early boundaries, had the last laugh as he sent MI’s former captain back to the pavilion.

Recently, Siraj shared his thoughts on being dropped from India’s Champions Trophy 2025 squad. He mentioned that while he was disappointed, he respected Rohit Sharma’s decision as a captain. Siraj stated that Rohit did what he felt was best for the team by selecting the bowlers he trusted.

Meanwhile, both Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians are still searching for their first win in IPL 2025, making this match crucial for both sides.
