Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) opener Phil Salt lit up the M Chinnaswamy Stadium with a monstrous 105-meter six off Gujarat Titans (GT) pacer Mohammed Siraj in their IPL 2025 clash on Wednesday, April 2.
The ball flew towards the midwicket region, landing on the roof of the stadium. This hit is now the longest six of IPL 2025, tied with Travis Head’s massive strike against Jofra Archer in the SRH vs RR match earlier in the tournament.
RCB’s innings got off to a shaky start. Both Virat Kohli (7) and Devdutt Padikkal (4) were dismissed inside the first 15 balls, putting pressure on Salt. He also had a lucky moment when Jos Buttler dropped his catch in the first over, giving him a second chance to settle in.
The Monster Six That Shook the Stadium
Phil Salt was looking to break free, and the opportunity came in the fifth over. He stepped down the track and launched Mohammed Siraj for a huge six that sent the Chinnaswamy crowd into a frenzy. This was his fourth six of IPL 2025, following his two stunning shots in RCB’s season opener against KKR.
The celebration was short-lived as Mohammed Siraj had the last laugh. On the very next ball, Salt again tried to go big. However, Siraj bowled it full and straight, and Salt missed it completely. The stumps were shattered, bringing his innings to an abrupt end.
Phil Salt’s 105-meter six will be remembered as one of the biggest hits of IPL 2025. However, Siraj’s quick response made this battle even more thrilling. The match continues to deliver exciting moments, and fans are loving every bit of it!
