The second match of PSL 10 between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi at Rawalpindi Stadium saw not only high scores and big moments, but also a fiery exchange between two Pakistan stars – Mohammad Amir and Saim Ayub.
Peshawar Zalmi, led by Babar Azam, won the toss and elected to bowl first. Quetta made the most of the opportunity, piling up 216 runs on the board, with skipper Saud Shakeel playing a crucial fifty-run knock.
As Zalmi began their chase, all eyes were on their opening duo – Babar Azam and Saim Ayub. But drama unfolded just two balls into the innings. Mohammad Amir dismissed Babar Azam for a duck and then turned his attention to Saim Ayub, who was at the non-striker’s end.
While walking back to his mark, Amir suddenly stopped and exchanged some words with Ayub. The cameras caught the moment, but it was tough to hear what was said. From their body language, it was clear that the conversation was tense and both players seemed unhappy.

This marked Ayub’s return to competitive cricket after recovering from an ankle injury, but it began in an intense manner.
Quetta Gladiators went on to dominate the rest of the game. After setting a huge target, their bowlers kept Zalmi under pressure throughout the innings. In the end, Quetta handed Peshawar a massive 80-run defeat to begin their PSL 2025 campaign on a high.
