Krafton India has turned the virtual battleground into a wedding venue with India’s biggest in-game wedding celebration.

According to The Tribune, the campaign highlights the story of Tanupreet and Jaspreet, a couple from Meerut, who met while playing BGMI. Their relationship grew through the game’s social features, leading to a three-day virtual wedding hosted inside the game.

The wedding festivities began on April 8 with a Mehendi ceremony, followed by a high-energy virtual Sangeet on April 9. The celebrations culminated in a grand Shaadi on April 11, 2025. Fans witnessed the virtual wedding through a dedicated video released on BGMI’s official Instagram page.

Krafton collaborated with 22feet Tribal WW and DDB Mudra Group to bring this concept to life. The event featured custom BGMI-themed wedding outfits designed by Ritu Beri and a virtual performance by singer Benny Dayal during the Sangeet.

Celebrities including Karan Johar and Neeraj Chopra joined the celebrations with humorous posts asking, “Mera invite kaha hai?” Popular influencers such as Mortal, Scout, Mamba, Kashvi, Tanmay Bhat, Meethika Dwivedi, and Purav Jha also engaged with the campaign on social media.

Srinjoy Das, Associate Director and Lead of Marketing at Krafton India, said, “Gaming today is not just about playing – it’s about belonging.” He added, “This is one of our most emotional and culturally rich campaigns yet.”

“BGMI gave us more than just a game – it gave us each other,” said Tanupreet and Jaspreet. “To be married inside the game that introduced us is beyond special.”

In honour of the couple, BGMI launched the ‘Shaadi Duo’ in-game event running from May 20 to June 1. Players can team up in Duo Mode, complete challenges in Classic matches, and unlock a limited-edition Space Gift Box.

The event celebrates all forms of in-game relationships. Participants can:

• Pair with a partner or friend
• Play Classic Mode in Duo setup
• Complete tasks to earn the reward

The event is powered by BGMI’s social features:

• Synergy: Built through frequent play and interaction
• Connection Requests: Unlocked at 100 Synergy
• Love Connection: Achieved at 1000 Synergy

These tools helped Tanupreet and Jaspreet evolve from teammates to a couple. Now, the Shaadi Duo event invites others to explore similar connections.

The campaign included influencer unboxings of BGMI-themed wedding invitations and millions of fans engaging online. It showcased BGMI’s transformation from just a game to a platform of storytelling and connection.
