Indian expat in UAE wins lottery, pledges to donate portion to Odisha train accident victims

A native of Jaspur town in Odisha, Sahajan Mohammad who recently won a lottery in Abu Dhabi has pledged to donate a portion of his winnings to the Odisha train accident victims.
Mohammad, who worked as a chef at a hotel in Abu Dhabi, recently won Dh 20,000 (Rs 4,48,885) in Dream Island’s scratch-card lottery. According to Telegraph India Mohammad said, “Fortunately, none of my known persons were involved in this horrific accident… There are a few people from my locality who have been injured in this accident. I will be helping those who are affected in my village first.”
He further plans to use the remaining amount for construction of his house and help some relatives in need. Currently earning somewhere around Dh 2,000 a month, Mohammad has previously tried his luck at different lotteries as well but without any success.
Recently, the Indian gaming community also donated over Rs 30 lakh to the Odisha train accident victims. These included collaboration streams from popular gamers like Tanmay Singh (ScoutOP) and Naman Mathur (Mortal) from S8UL along with Lokesh Jain (8Bit_Goldy) and professional cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal.
Popular YouTuber Ajey Nagar (CarryMinati) also donated Rs 1.5 lakh in his charity stream, making the total donations from him and his fans cross Rs 11 lakh. He also thanked everyone for coming forward and donating to the noble cause.
Another popular BGMI player Jonathan Amaral, along with GodLike’s female roster Team Rebel, donated their tournament winnings, thus contributing Rs 5 lakh to the Odisha train accident relief funds.
