Popular singer, musician, and film actor Jassie Gill has now partnered with banned betting website lotus365 and posted a promotional video in collaboration on his Instagram profile which has over 8 million followers.

In the video, the popular Punjabi star compares the illegal betting website to casinos in Las Vegas and Goa saying players can get the same experience on lotus365 saying jackpot doesn’t come to those who wait, implying people to bet on the platform.

Gill further calls lotus365 as India’s 100% trusted website without any proof and says that people can play several casino games and bet on their favourite teams during matches and win lakhs of rupees.

Among all the other banned/illegal betting website, lotus365 seems to be pushing their betting services hardest in the India market. The company has partnered with several celebrities and influencers, small and big names equally, to promote their illegal and banned platform.

Lotus365 using heavy celebrity endorsements to dupe people into betting

Some of the celebrities have called the illegal betting platform as India’s only legal betting platform, despite gambling being illegal in India, and duped their followers into believing it as truth. This has previously backfired in the case of actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Urvashi Rautela as they received notices from the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) asking for explanation to call lotus365 legal.

Actor Suniel Shetty has also gone as far to call the betting platform “messiah of all gaming apps” and promoted the platform multiple times on his social media account. Many other local celebrities have also promoted this illegitimate platform on their social media accounts for hefty sums of money.

These celebrities, according to the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 can be fine up to Rs 50 lakh and be barred from appearing in adverts for one year for false and misleading advertisement.
