Gaming startup MetaShot raises $400k in pre-seed round

Bengaluru-based gaming startup MetaShot have successful raise $400,000 in a pre-seed round led by Inflection Point Ventures. Several angel investors including founders of Dineout – Ankit Mehrotra, Sahil Jain and Khalid Qazi.
MetaShot’s founding team includes Prince Thomas, Ranjit Behera, and Ajith Sunny. The founders say that they want to enable the users to have a realistic cricket experience at their own comfort. The socials feature of the game enables users to play with users across the globe.
The company, in a press release, revealed that team expansion will be its primary focus. Additionally, the company will also focus on research and development. The company plans to allot a part of its budget on marketing.
Co-founder of MetaShot, Prince Thomas said, “MetaShot aims to revolutionise the USD 72 billion global gaming console market by introducing accessible metaphysical gaming, which is currently in its early stages globally and in India. Our mission is to bring the joy of physical sports to every living room.”
“With our first product, we aim to bring the fun and excitement of real cricket into every living room of a cricket-crazy nation. Interestingly, we dreamed, designed & built MetaShot completely out of India. We thank our investors for believing in our journey and backing our mission,” he added.
Bengaluru-based MetaShot eyes countrywide expansion
Currently, the company is operating from Bengaluru, but has plans to operate in other cities very soon. The company has also mentioned its plans to eventually expand outside India too.
Vikram Ramasubramanian of Inflection Point Ventures said that MetaShot is bringing a great cricket experience to the fans. He also emphasized that the game is loved across India. He further noted that with proper marketing, the company can easily reach all players across the country and help form them strategic partnerships.
Even with the changes in the GST rate for online gaming, companies are adapting and looking out for new opportunities in the gaming space.
