iQOO has finally selected its Chief Gaming Officer after three months of extensive nationwide search involving several talented gamers. 23-year-old Shwetank Pandey grabs the title from Uttar Pradesh.
In the official statement, the brand said, “Shwetank was the last man standing amongst 60,000+ applicants who applied to become one of India’s youngest Chief Gaming Officers with iQOO.” CEO of iQOO, Nipun Marya, said that this will be a significant moment in the Indian smartphone industry.
“With his inclusion, we aim to infuse a dynamic and fresh perspective into our products and initiatives for the youthful gaming enthusiasts in the country. We’re all looking forward to having him on board and have full confidence in his ability to excel in fulfilling his designated responsibilities,” Marya added.
Shwetank will now be helping the company over the course of six months to optimize devices that can easily handle modern games at the highest settings. The company will also compensate him for his time as promised with Rs 10 lakh.
The selection process was done in multiple stages that tested a gamer’s knowledge, gameplay, and communication skills. According to the company, Shwetank’s performance on all fronts was top-notch, which earned him the title.
Expressing his excitement, Shwetank said, “I’m absolutely thrilled at the moment. When I initially filled out the application form, I was apprehensive and aspired to be amongst the finalists. Little did I know that this journey would take me this far and ultimately result in me becoming iQOO‘s first-ever CGO.
Along with Shwetank, there are also two zonal CGOs. These are Aojesh Shrivastava from Delhi and Battu Nikhil Reddy (Shoutout YT) from Hyderabad, who will work with Shwetank to further strategize and enhance the gaming experience. Each of them will also be compensated with Rs 2.5 lakh for their services
