A special court in Delhi has now extended the judicial remand of the three individuals – suspended ASI Chandrabhushan Verma, constable Bhim Singh Yadav and Aseem Das – who were arrested for facilitating operations of the Mahadev Book illegal betting app network, reported Janta se Rishta.
As the earlier 14-day judicial remand ended, the authorities presented the accused in the court of Special Judge Ajay Singh Rajput, who has now extended the judicial remand till December 20 as per IBC24.
All the individuals are under the scanner of Enforcement Directorate for facilitating various services for Mahadev Book operatives. The ED is currently interrogating these individuals for leads on other people who might be involved in the scam.
Suspended ASI Chandrabhushan Verma is accused of receiving bribe from Mahadev Book operatives and distributing it to other police officials.
Aseem Das, who was caught with over Rs 5 crore in his van, had previously confessed that the money was from Mahadev Book operatives and was meant to be delivered to CM Bhupesh Baghel as election funds.
However, most recently Das has asked for a re-investigation of his case and the officials who arrested him as he now claims that he was falsely accused, and the money was for his own business startup.
