College Rivals, India’s largest Esports talent hunt, has innovatively combined dance and Esports in a series of flash mobs across Mumbai’s iconic locations, inspired by the Olympic Esports Series. As per the report in Indiatodaygaming, the flash mobs, which took place at Carter Road, Marine Drive, and Juhu on Saturday and Sunday, 17th and 18th February aimed to showcase the dynamic synergy between dance and Esports, providing an immersive experience for the audience.
Taking cues from the inaugural Olympic Esports Series in Singapore last year, which featured the competitive title Just Dance, College Rivals introduced a unique blend of dance and Esports to engage the community. Just Dance is a motion-based music video game challenging players to mimic on-screen dancers using motion controllers.
The flash mobs, set to the ‘Rivalry’ anthem, a song released by Ampverse, Asia’s largest ecosystem of gaming communities and IPs, paid tribute to the gaming ecosystem. This initiative, featuring the professional dance group ‘Dramatic Mob,’ displays College Rivals’ drive to push boundaries in India’s Esports landscape.
College Rivals, an intellectual property of Ampverse in collaboration with DMI Finance, has brought innovation to India’s Esports scene by picking the vast talent pool within college campuses. The platform provides students with an opportunity to showcase their gaming prowess. The grand finale of College Rivals is slated to be a unique experiential LAN event on March 3 at Nesco, Mumbai, where 28 finalists selected from colleges nationwide will compete across six titles.
In addition to the flash mobs, College Rivals spread cheer by offering complimentary tea to students in various colleges, including HR College, KC College, Jai Hind College, RD National, Rizvi, Xaviers, Mithibai, NM, and NMIMS in South Bombay, Bandra, and Vile Parle from February 15 to 17. As part of this initiation, select participants in contests and activities were given free tickets to the grand finale.
Fans interested in witnessing the action live can book their tickets on BookMyShow, and for those unable to attend in person, the grand finale is to be streamed on various platforms, including Youtube, Facebook Gaming, Twitch, Kick, Glance, JioGames, JioTV, Loco, and Rooter. College Rivals continues to showcase its commitment to fostering a vibrant gaming community and promoting Esports across India.
