Skyesports, an esports tournament organizer in India, is coming up for the Skyesports Grand Slam 2024 with the Playoffs scheduled to take place in Pune from March 14 to 16. The international Counter-Strike 2 esports tournament will see four teams from Russia, Indonesia, India, and Australia battling it out for the title and a prize pool of $50,000.
The event is set to be held at the 6th India Gaming Show 2024, an international gaming, animation, and infotainment event organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). With esports gaining prominence as a growing industry, the Skyesports Grand Slam serves as a platform to showcase competitive gaming talent on a global scale.
The event will feature an esports diplomatic showmatch between India and Indonesia marking 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Sponsored by the Indonesian Embassy of New Delhi, the showmatch depicts the collaboration between the two countries in promoting their gaming industries. The Indian and Indonesian teams will compete for victory in a display of skill and camaraderie.
The Skyesports Grand Slam will host the ‘Luna’ Showmatch, an all-female esports tournament featuring ten of India’s top female gaming stars competing in Counter-Strike 2. The initiative aims to promote inclusivity within the gaming community and inspire aspiring women gamers to pursue their passion in esports.
The main event will showcase teams from across the globe, including Aurora Gaming from Russia, Garuda Wisnu Voyage from Indonesia, Gods Reign representing India, and Bad News Kangaroo hailing from Australia. These teams will engage in intense competition within a double-elimination bracket format, with the ultimate goal of clinching the championship title and a share of the prize pool.
