Chingari was founded in 2018 by Sumit Ghosh, Aditya Kothari, Biswatma Nayak, and Deepak Salvi. Aditya Kothari one of the co-founders separated ways with the company last year.
This move into the Web3 gaming space marks a shift for Chingari, coming nearly a year after the company’s reported exploration of NSFW content. Despite facing challenges, including layoffs affecting over 50% of its staff, Chingari has seen improvements in its financial performance. The company reported a narrowed net loss of 69.5% to INR 42.5 Cr in FY23, attributed to its growing top line and reduced advertising costs.
The company is planning to launch more games by the next quarter of 2024 with an aim to expand its web3 gaming portfolio to cater to a diverse range of users.
