Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has announced the commencement of submissions for the second cohort of the PlayStation India Hero Project. Following the success of its inaugural phase, which saw the emergence of five titles, the project aims to provide budding game developers with the necessary resources, mentorship, and support to bring their visions to life.
The PlayStation India Hero Project, launched back in 2023, serves as an incubator program designed to support developers in India by offering them a platform to realize their gaming aspirations. The first cohort, comprising titles like Fishbowl, Mukti, Meteora, Requital Gates of Blood, and Suri: The Seventh Note, showcased the diverse range of talent present within the Indian gaming community.
As reported by IGN India, with submissions now open for the second cohort, aspiring developers are encouraged to seize this opportunity to turn their ideas into reality. The submission process, outlined by SIE, requires applicants to provide a comprehensive package including a pitch, budget, and demo of their game. The deadline for submissions is set for July 31, 2024.
Developers from the previous cohort are welcome to submit applications for new projects. However, games from the initial phase will only be evaluated if substantial changes have been implemented. Late submissions will be considered for subsequent cohorts, highlighting the project’s commitment to fairness and inclusivity.
Selected participants of the PlayStation India Hero Project will stand to benefit from a range of advantages. These include mentorship from SIE professionals, access to internal services, recoupable development funding, global exposure as part of the India Hero Project, and the prospect of having their game published by SIE.
By providing developers with the necessary support and resources, the PlayStation India Hero Project tries to pave the way for the emergence of innovative and compelling gaming experiences from the region.
