International music icon Drake has reportedly won over Rs. 7 crores from a cricket bet placed on the recent India vs Pakistan match. The bet was placed on India’s victory, which happened when India won over Pakistan by six runs in their second match of the T20 World Cup on Sunday evening.

As reported by News18, Drake took to his Instagram Stories over the weekend to share that he had staked a Rs. 5.4 crores on India’s win. As reported by the UK publication Mirror, the successful bet resulted in a total prize of £715,000 (Rs. 7.58 crores), with £204,000 (Rs. 2.16 crores) being pure profit.

“The result saw Drake take home a total prize of £715,000 and £204,000 in pure profit. The bet is just the latest in a long line of stakes that the rapper has put down,” stated the report.

Sunday’s match kept the fans on the edge of their seats. India, batting first, put up a score of 119 before being bowled out within 19 overs. Pakistan started strong, causing concern among Indian supporters. However, performances by Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya turned the tide. Bumrah’s figures of three wickets for just 14 runs, coupled with Pandya’s two wickets for 24 runs, secured India’s victory.

This isn’t the first time Drake has ventured in cricket betting. Recently, he won Rs. 3.73 crores from a bet on the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). According to Mashable India, Drake had bet $250,000 on the team, earning over Rs. 1.7 crores from the successful bet.
