The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) showered the victorious Indian team with a massive INR 125 crore prize money after their win in the T20 World Cup 2024. 

As per reports, the BCCI has adopted a generous distribution plan. Here’s a breakdown:

• All 15 members of the T20 World Cup squad, including those who didn’t get a game, will receive a cool INR 5 crore each.
• Head coach Rahul Dravid will also be rewarded with INR 5 crore.
• The rest of the coaching staff, comprising batting coach Vikram Rathour, fielding coach T Dilip, and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, will pocket INR 2.5 crore each.
• The backroom staff, including the video production team, will be rightfully compensated with INR 2 crore each.
• The selection committee, led by former cricketer Ajit Agarkar, will be presented with INR 1 crore each.
• BCCI didn’t forget the reserve players – Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed, Shubman Gill, and Avesh Khan – who will receive INR 1 crore each for their contributions.

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government also announced a separate reward of INR 11 crore for their state players – Rohit Sharma, Shivam Dube, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Suryakumar Yadav. 

The BCCI secretary Jay Shah confirmed that skipper Rohit Sharma will continue to lead the team in the upcoming World Test Championship final and the Champions Trophy. The Indian team, well-compensated and motivated, will undoubtedly be looking to add more silverware to the cabinet.
