The newly appointed head coach of the Indian cricket team, Gautam Gambhir, is leaving no stone unturned in making his coaching staff the best ever.
According to a report of Cricbuzz, Gautam Gambhir is now looking to add Ryan ten Doeschate, the Netherlands legend to the team’s backroom staff.
Ryan ten Doeschate recently worked with Gambhir at the Kolkata Knight Riders, acting as the fielding coach during their championship-winning season.
In addition to his duties with KKR, Ten Doeschate is part of the support staff for their teams in the Caribbean Premier League, Major League Cricket, and ILT20.
Abhishek Nayar To Be Appointed As Assistant Coach
This follows reports that Gautam Gambhir has recommended Abhishek Nayar for the assistant coach position with the Indian cricket team, and his appointment is expected to be confirmed by the BCCI soon.
Additionally, the BCCI has rejected Gautam Gambhir’s request to appoint Vinay Kumar as the bowling coach, instead shortlisting Zaheer Khan and Lakshmipati Balaji for the position.
Meanwhile, T Dilip, who served as the fielding coach under outgoing head coach Rahul Dravid, is likely to be retained and will continue in his role alongside Gautam Gambhir.
