Just like former Team India coach Rahul Dravid, captain Rohit Sharma was reportedly ready to give up his INR 5 crore bonus prize money for the support staff, which he got after winning the T20 World Cup 2024 to the support staff.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) presented Team India with a staggering cash prize of INR 125 crore, which is six times the amount awarded by the ICC for the T20 World Cup 2024 and surpasses the tournament’s total prize pool of INR 93.52 crore.

The board assured the BCCI that each of the 15 players in the India squad, along with head coach Rahul Dravid, will receive INR 5 crore each, while coaching staff and support staff will be awarded INR 2.5 crore and INR 2 crore each, respectively.

Earlier, head coach Rahul Dravid lived up to his ‘gentleman of the game’ reputation by refusing a INR 5 crore bonus and expressing his desire to receive an equal bonus to that received by other coaching members, which is INR 2.5 crore.
