The Indian national cricket team’s captain, Rohit Sharma, retired from T20 internationals last month after their win in the T20 World Cup 2024 in the Caribbean.

Under Rohit Sharma’s leadership, Team India remained unbeaten throughout the T20 World Cup 2024, making history as the first team to win the championship without losing a single game.

Rohit Sharma played a crucial role in India’s World Cup win, emerging as the highest run-scorer for the team with 257 runs in 8 games and a strike rate of 156.70.

Since his retirement from T20Is, fans have been eager to know Rohit Sharma’s plans for the remaining two formats. At the recent launch of his cricket academy in the USA, he discussed his future in ODI and Test cricket.

Here’s what he said:

“I just said it, I don’t look that far ahead. So clearly you will be seeing me playing for a while.”

Rohit Sharma’s next assignment is the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled to be hosted by Pakistan in February. However, it is doubtful that Team India will travel to the neighbouring country due to ongoing political tensions.
