Former Indian batter and NCA chief VVS Laxman is reportedly set to join the coaching staff of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for the upcoming IPL 2025 season.
Meanwhile, the former batting coach of the Indian cricket team is likely to replace VVS Laxman as NCA chief. However, the capacity in which VVS will join LSG is yet to be revealed.
VVS Laxman Likely to Mentor LSG
The former Indian batter, who also served as the interim head coach, has reportedly been contacted by LSG for a coaching or mentoring role, according to the Times of India, ahead of the IPL 2025 season.
The report further mentions that Laxman has already engaged in discussions with the Sanjiv Goenka-owned franchise. Laxman may be considered for the mentor role left vacant by Gautam Gambhir.
Vikram Rathour to Take Over NCA
According to a report from Sports Tak, Laxman does not wish to extend his tenure at the NCA, which is set to finish in September. Hence, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has shortlisted former batting coach Rathour to assume the role at the NCA in Bengaluru.
