In a significant blow to Sri Lanka ahead of their three-match T20I series against India, star fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera has been ruled out due to injury.

Colombo-based journalist Azzam Ameen reported that Chameera will not be participating in the series against India. The Sri Lanka Cricket board is expected to make an official announcement about this blow soon.

Dushmantha Chameera: An Injury-Prone Sri Lankan Bowler

Dushmantha Chameera is one of the most injury-prone fast bowlers in world cricket today, having missed considerable action over the past few years due to ongoing injury issues.

Chameera, who was part of the Kandy Falcons during the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2024, missed several matches due to injury. He also missed the 2023 ODI World Cup and was unavailable for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) during IPL 2024, playing only two matches in the T20 World Cup 2024.

Chameera has so far taken 55 wickets in 55 T20I matches. His absence will challenge the Sri Lankan bowling attack, and Matheesha Pathirana will need a new partner for the upcoming home series against India.
