Rashid Khan, the all-rounder for MI New York, rose to the occasion with a vital 55 off 30 deliveries in the Major League Cricket (MLC) 2024 Eliminator clash against the Texas Super Kings (TSK).

Thanks to his 50, MI New York managed to score a decent total of 163 runs with eight wickets down. Nevertheless, the Texas Super Kings easily chased it with nine wickets remaining.

Rashid’s innings started slowly but he erupted in the death overs, hitting Aaron Hardie for consecutive sixes and finding more boundaries off Noor Ahmed to reach his fifty.

It was the monstrous batting by Texas Super Kings captain Faf du Plessis that tore through MI New York’s bowling attack, leaving even Trent Boult, one of the best in the business, conceding 50 runs in his four-over spell.

Faf du Plessis scored 72 off 47 balls, while Devon Conway and Aaron Hardie remained unbeaten with 51 and 40 runs respectively, finishing the match for the Texas Super Kings.

With this win, the Texas Super Kings have now qualified for the Challenger match, while MI New York, the defending champions, are eliminated from the tournament.
