The Lucknow Falcons have signed veteran Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar for the second season of the UPT20 League.
He previously represented Noida Super Kings in the league’s inaugural edition, where he claimed 14 wickets in nine games, finishing as the fourth-highest wicket-taker.
Kanpur Superstars and Gorakhpur Lions were in the race for Bhuvneshwar Kumar for quite some time during the auction.
However, Gorakhpur had to pull out as they did not have enough money. The Lucknow Falcons then joined the bidding and secured Bhuvneshwar Kumar for a staggering INR 30.25 lakhs.
Alongside Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the Lucknow Falcons have secured the services of Sameer Choudhary, Kritagya Kumar Singh, Viprag Nigam, and Aditya Kumar Singh for the second season.
They also kept Priyam Garg, the captain of India’s 2020 U19 World Cup team. He is likely to lead the team again.
Lucknow Falcons secured a third-place finish last season but lost to Meerut Mavericks in the semi-finals. They will be looking to go deep this time around. Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s experience will be helpful for the team.
