Sunrisers Hyderabad is all set to get a new stadium as Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy revealed that the state government is working on plans to establish a new international cricket stadium close to Hyderabad.

He also revealed that conversations have begun with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) regarding the stadium’s construction. The Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium is currently the home venue for SRH.

In his address to the State Assembly, Revanth Reddy revealed that preliminary negotiations with the BCCI for a new cricket stadium in Hyderabad’s outskirts have been finalized. The planned location for the stadium is near Begarikancha village in Kandukur Mandal, Rangareddy district.

“We want to bring the best sports policy. We are studying the policies in various states and Haryana has the best sports policy,” the CM said in the assembly.

“The state govt is holding talks with BCCI in this regard and preliminary level talks have already been completed. BCCI has come forward to construct one of the best international cricket stadiums. The state govt will allot land near Begarikancha village in Kandukur mandal in Rangareddy district in the vicinity of the upcoming skill university,” he added.

Notably, the Hyderabad Cricket Association was honoured with the Best Ground and Pitch Award in IPL 2019 and achieved the same accolade again in IPL 2024.

At the stadium, Sunrisers Hyderabad set a record with the second highest team total, amassing 277/3 against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024.
