The SA20, which started roughly two years ago in South Africa, has quickly become the second most popular and competitive T20 league in international cricket, behind only the Indian Premier League. 

The SA20 Tournament comprises six teams, all of which are owned by IPL stakeholders. Over the past two seasons, the Sunrisers Eastern Cape, led by Aiden Markram, has claimed the trophy. 

The SA20 is set to enter its third season, and it’s evolving into an even bigger event. According to reports, England Test captain Ben Stokes is expected to sign with MI Cape Town, the franchise owned by the Mumbai Indians. 

Alongside the news of Ben Stokes possibly joining MI Cape Town, other significant signings have been made for the SA20. Kane Williamson and Chris Woakes are set to play for the Durban Super Giants, Joe Root has been signed by the Paarl Royals, and Jonny Bairstow will be with the Texas Super Kings. 

Although the tournament is six months away and an auction is yet to come, teams have already announced their retained players as well as those they have traded and pre-signed. Here’s a look at the details:

Retained Players of All Six Teams for SA20 2025:
